Kantor Jonathan Swett

Jonathan grew up surrounded by and participating in music in the church. His father, Art Swett, retired in 2014 from his 44-year service as Teacher/Minister of Music in the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.

At Concordia University Chicago, he studied organ under Dr. Steven Wente, and received his master’s degree in Church Music in 2005. He completed the Colloquy Program of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in 2011.

Jonathan has been Kantor at Our Savior in Hartland since 2014, and previously served for nine years as Minister of Music at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School in Oak Lawn, IL. In his spare time, he enjoys all kinds of music, travel, woodworking, and home brewing. In Chicago he also restored, repaired, and tuned pipe organs. His wife, Jessie, is a part-time Certified Nurse Assistant and full-time mother to their children, Jonah and Johannah.
