Reverend Rodney E. Zwonitzer serves as associate pastor of Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church & School in Hartland, Michigan. Pastor Zwonitzer is what some would call a second career pastor. He graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Wyoming in 1971. From 1971 to 1984 he served in marketing executive positions in primarily the computer industry with Westinghouse, Storage Technology Corporation, and United Technologies Mostek. Then another calling came into his life. After graduating from Concordia Seminary with the Master of Divinity degree in 1988, he was called to serve as Pastor of both Peace and Trinity Lutheran Churches in Trail and Fruitvale, British Columbia, Canada. He served there until he was called to be Senior Pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Dearborn, Michigan in 1991.
In 2012 Pastor Zwonitzer was called to be Director of Broadcast Services for the LCMS. He retired in 2015 and was residing in Florida. The Rev. Zwonitzer is author of Testing the Claims of Church Growth (CPH, 2002). He was co-founder of the Peacemakers Dialogue Group, served on the Board of Directors of LATINO (Lutheran Action Improving Native Spanish Outreach), was a co-founder of the Ephphatha Lutheran Mission Society, and has served as an adjunct professor at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne. He also served as the Community Member of the Internal Review Board/Humans in Research of the University of Michigan from 1998-2012. He is blessed with a lovely wife, Bonnie, and a daughter, Tonya, and four grandchildren.
