Deaconess Bielby grew up near Flint, MI, attending grades K-8 at St. Paul Lutheran School. After high school, she attended the University of Michigan, earning a degree in Electrical Engineering. During college, she was active at University Lutheran Chapel, growing in faith and developing an interest in mission and service. After college, she worked for Lockheed Martin in Binghamton, NY and later in Ft. Wayne, IN, and for BAE Systems. After taking Greek at Concordia Theological Seminary (CTS), she continued in the Master of Arts program. She soon colloquized into the Deaconess Program at Concordia University River Forest (now Chicago), later transferring into the new deaconess program at CTS. Her internship was at St. John – Flatrock in Decatur, IN, and also as Associate Director of Deaconess Studies at CTS. Her first call was to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Monroe, MI, also serving part-time at University Lutheran Chapel in Ann Arbor. She served there for ten years until her call to serve as Principal at Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church and School. She is excited about the mission of the school to children and families as they grow in the midst of a community sustained by the grace and love of Jesus Christ.
